You can utilize the digital operating environment in painting and drawing. You can build and paint and combine works of different techniques, in which you utilize color theory, composition and perspective.
You can choose a working method and program that is suitable for your work.
You can combine different digital works into one work (photograph + painting). You can choose works from your works that are suitable for an exhibition.

You can master the ideation, planning, budgeting, preparation, process-like production, post-processing, written reflections, documents and presentations, printing, framing, pricing, sales and naming, and hanging of an exhibition-wide set of images into an experiential whole from the audience's perspective.

You can analyze an existing image using image analysis methods and you can use image analysis methods when evaluating your own work. You know how to receive and utilize the feedback you receive (motivation).

You know how to build an exhibition in a group, you know the basic idea of building an exhibition.

Content

You will participate in the exhibition with your own works. You will be able to choose your works for the exhibition and present them for curation and jurying with justification. You will organize an exhibition together with a group. You will be given the role of exhibition organizer. You will learn to act in accordance with ethical principles.
You will create digital works for a joint exhibition. You will build works using both painting and combining different techniques, in which you will utilize color theory, composition, and perspective. You will develop your own artistic expression using digital means. You will select your work for a juried exhibition.
During the course, the principles of sustainable development will be taken into account.

The production (printing) of an art object is part of this course.

You will learn how to plan a project generated by the artistic process and you will be able to verbalize the project in a way that supports the realization of the project.

You will learn to produce an exhibition-wide body of work in one of the four fields of the photographic income division.

You will learn to photograph professionally with a digital camera and to process the images to make them suitable for printing and to deliver them in accordance with good professional practice. You will learn to evaluate the image and the work as a whole, and to participate in art discussions in an appropriate manner using self-evaluation methods, peer review and expertise in the field of art history and contemporary art.

You will learn to realize your photographs up to pigment prints. You will be able to position your works in art history and contemporary art. You will be able to produce your private exhibition and market it on social media.

Content

The main content is to go through the ideation, positioning and planning of an artistic exhibition-scale project, from implementation to publication, utilizing digital photography equipment and image processing software. The scope of the project is 30 digital photographs in a specified format delivered to the teacher via a cloud service. From this, your own exhibition will be curated, and you will be responsible for printing and displaying it. Theoretical examination, history and division of photography according to income generation support positioning and participation in discussion. Safety and sustainable development are taken into account throughout the project and work. The educational institution pays for the materials used in teaching. The student pays for other project costs.

You know how to analyze your own artistic work. You know how to visualize experience and excitement. You know how to build an exhibition based on the semester's works. As a visual artist, you are familiar with the Nordic operating environment and how to operate responsibly in an environment. You are able to observe society, its values, and human life and find points of departure and common ground in the art of other visual artists and in your own art.

You learn to conduct a risk analysis and learn the basics of electrical safety.

You learn how to observe and analyze natural and artificial light. You learn to transfer the light situation based on your observations to the studio. You also learn basic lighting terminology, the meaning of terminology in practical implementation, and the history of photographic lighting.

You learn how to process a digital photograph.

You learn how to produce an analog photograph.

Through portrait photography, you will learn to meet another person with your camera and take care of even the smallest details of the photo shoot throughout the entire process, from start to finish.

You will learn to use your mobile phone to produce marketing material that exceeds the publication threshold for your own use and for the marketing of your exhibition. You will learn how to track working hours as a basis for pricing.

Content

We work in a workshop-style studio and in nature, as well as in a residential environment. We use our own digital and analog photographic equipment, studio equipment and image processing equipment, borrowed from the educational institution or borrowed from the educational institution. We consider photography as an art, tradition and profession, and ourselves as an artist or photographer in relation to them. We consider our relationship with the audience and begin to put together our own exhibition for the spring. The educational institution pays for the materials used in the teaching. The student pays for other costs of their project.

Content

You will participate in group work, the theme of which is the working environment of a visual artist. You will observe society, its values and human life and find points of departure and common ground in the art of other visual artists and in your own art. You will learn about creative thinking and the creative working method of a visual artist.

You will make observations about your environment and draw and paint them to make them visible. You will utilize composition and color theory theories in your work. You will use lead and charcoal as well as watercolors and acrylics. You will participate in peer feedback, receive and give feedback. You will build a learning portfolio of your work from the first semester.

Sustainable development is realized as material choices in this course.

KOHDERYHMÄ
Polkuopinnot on tarkoitettu kaikille kiinnostuneille iästä ja koulutustaustasta riippumatta. Opintojen aloittaminen ei edellytä aikaisempia opintoja tai työkokemusta. Opiskelu edellyttää kuitenkin sitoutumista opintoihin, motivaatiota, itseohjautuvuutta sekä riittäviä kielellisiä, matemaattisia ja tietoteknisiä valmiuksia. Opiskelijalla tulee olla oma (kannettava) tietokone.
Mikäli äidinkieli ja/tai koulusivistyskieli on muu kuin suomi, ilmoittautujan on toimitettava todistus suomen kielen taidosta. Opinnot edellyttävät hyvää suomen kielen taitoa (vähintään taitotasoa YKI 3).

Valinta polkuopintoihin tapahtuu ilmoittautumisjärjestyksessä. Ilmoittautuminen on sitova ja paikkoja rajoitetusti. Ilmoittautumisen jälkeen saat järjestelmän lähettämän vahvistusviestin, jossa on ohjeet opintojen aloittamiseen ja käyttäjätunnusten käyttöönottoon. OPISKELU
Polkuopinnot ovat pääsääntöisesti ensimmäisen vuoden opintoja. Opiskelu tapahtuu tutkinto-opiskelijoiden ryhmässä lukujärjestyksen mukaisesti. Tarkemman kuvauksen koulutuksen toteutuksesta löydät tekstin alla olevasta linkistä. Opiskelu edellyttää aktiivista osallistumista. Yksi opintopiste vastaa noin 27 tuntia opiskelijan työtä. Opintojen suoritusvaatimukset ovat avoimen AMKin opiskelijoille samat kuin tutkinto-opiskelijoilla. Avoimen AMKin opintoihin myönnetään rajallinen opinto-oikeus. Opinto-oikeus koskee ainoastaan opintoja, jotka kokonaisuuden kuvauksessa on mainittu.
Aiemmin suoritettuja opintoja, työkokemusta tai muuta korkeakoulutasoista osaamista voidaan tunnistaa ja tunnustaa avoimen polkuopintopakettiin kuuluvien opintojen osalta. Tämä tapahtuu henkilökohtaista opiskelusuunnitelmaa laadittaessa koulutuksen opinto-ohjaajan kanssa.

TUTKINTO-OPISKELIJAKSI HAKEUTUMINEN
Suoritettuasi polkuopinnot (60 op), voit hakeutua Lapin AMKin tutkinto-opiskelijaksi erillishaussa (avoimen väylä-haussa). Avoimessa AMKissa suorittamasi polkuopinnot voidaan hyväksilukea tutkinto-opiskelijaksi hakeutumisen ja hyväksynnän jälkeen. Tutkinto-opiskelijana jatkat opintoja yleensä samassa opiskelijaryhmässä.
