New degree students at Lapland University of Applied Sciences are oriented to their studies by this course. Course is divided to two parts. The first part of the course (2 ects), you will do independently in Moodle- environment, during the first month of study. In this part of course, you will get to know Lapland University of Applied Sciences as a learning environment. You will consider your learning abilities and acquire the skills and systems needed for your future studies.
The second part of the course (3 ects), will be hold on campus with your own educational fields’ teacher. In the Study Guidance and Curriculum section, you will get to know the other students in your starting group and start planning your own studies. Your own teacher will give the instructions for this part of the course.
You are able to plan, implement and evaluate the daily activities of patient or customer care in a responsible way.

You are able to administer enteral and parenteral medications safely. You know how to guide patients in a way that promotes health.

5 cr = You are capable of professional and therapeutic interaction with customers/patients of different ages and backgrounds as well as their loved ones.
You are able to meet vulnerable customer groups from different cultures individually. You can work in multidisciplinary working groups and operating environments.
You can give service guidance by informing customers about different healthcare and social services and guiding them in making choices regarding the services.
You understand the need for change brought about by digitalisation in the changing operating environments of healthcare and social services.
Students develop oral and written communication skills at level B1.1 (CEFR) and are familiar with the nursing language in the Finnish context. Students expand their vocabulary and structures to the topics related to nursing. Students can communicate in simple, familiar, and routine nursing-related tasks in the hospital, health care center, elderly care, and home care. Students are able to describe in simple terms aspects of his/her working environment, and matters in areas of immediate need using professional social interaction.

Kohderyhmä
Polkuopinnot on tarkoitettu Suomessa asuville, sairaanhoitajan tutkinnon EU:n ulkopuolella suorittaneille valmiille sairaanhoitajille. Koulutukseen ei voi hakea pelkällä lähihoitajatutkinnolla, mutta Suomessa suoritettu lähihoitajatutkinto nopeuttaa polkuasi. Opinnot toteutetaan Kemin kampuksella yksilöllisen opintosuunnitelman mukaan. Läsnäoloa vaativia opiskelupäiviä kampuksella on yksilöllisen opintosuunnitelman mukaan, mutta jokaisen opiskelijan tulee varautua pakollisiin kampuspäiviin viikoittain/kuukausittain. Opiskelu edellyttää sitoutumista opintoihin, motivaatiota, itseohjautuvuutta sekä riittäviä kielellisiä, matemaattisia ja tietoteknisiä valmiuksia. Opiskelijalla tulee olla oma (kannettava) tietokone.
Sinulla on mahdollista suorittaa nämä opinnot suomeksi tai englanniksi.
Jos haluat suorittaa opintosi suomeksi, opinnoissa edellytetään hyvää suomen kielen taitoa (vähintään taitotasoa YKI 3, jolloin ¾ osakokeista on hyväksytysti suoritettuna). On mahdollista, että osa opinnoista toteutetaan englanniksi. Huomioithan, että jos haluat opiskella suomen kielellä, sinun ei tarvitse maksaa lukuvuosimaksua.
Jos haluat suorittaa opintosi englannin kielellä, opinnoissa edellytetään hyvää englannin kielen taitoa. Opiskelijan tulee osoittaa englannin kielen taitonsa joko kansainvälisellä kielitestillä tai aikaisemmilla opinnoilla. On mahdollista, että osa opinnoista toteutetaan suomeksi, jolloin opinnoissa edellytetään hyvää suomen kielen taitoa (vähintään taitotasoa YKI 3, jolloin ¾ osakokeista on hyväksytysti suoritettuna).
Ilmoittautuminen
Valinta polkuopintoihin tapahtuu ilmoittautumisjärjestyksessä. Ilmoittautuminen on sitova ja paikkoja rajoitetusti. Alkuperäiset tutkintotodistukset tarkistetaan, kun opinnot alkavat.

Opiskelu
Polkuopinnot ovat pääsääntöisesti ensimmäisen vuoden opintoja. Opiskelu tapahtuu tutkinto-opiskelijoiden ryhmissä lukujärjestyksen mukaisesti. Opintojen suoritusvaatimukset ovat avoimen AMKin opiskelijoille samat kuin tutkinto-opiskelijoilla.
Avoimen AMKin opintoihin myönnetään rajallinen opinto-oikeus. Opinto-oikeus koskee ainoastaan opintoja, jotka kokonaisuuden kuvauksessa on mainittu. Yksilöllistä opiskelusuunnitelmaa laadittaessa tunnistetaan ja tunnustetaan aiemmin hankittu osaaminen.
Tutkinto-opiskelijaksi hakeutuminen
Suoritettuasi polkuopinnot (63 op), voit hakeutua Lapin AMKin tutkinto-opiskelijaksi erillishaussa (avoimen väylä -haussa). Avoimessa AMKissa suorittamasi polkuopinnot voidaan hyväksilukea tutkinto-opiskelijaksi hakeutumisen ja hyväksynnän jälkeen. Tutkinto-opiskelijana jatkat opintoja yleensä samassa opiskelijaryhmässä suomenkielisessä tai englanninkielisessä sairaanhoitajakoulutuksessa.
